New Pictures from our Parishioner's Home Altars:

 Fr. Chad's Home Altar

Picture

Last June I decided to make a little arrangement or small altar in our home. I gathered some things that had special meaning to me. I arranged them so I could see them every day, especially in the morning. I started with my favorite Madonna and child that my Aunt bought in the 1950’s. I have a candle stick holder that was my grandmother’s. I try to keep fresh flowers or greenery when available in a cut glass pitcher that was my great grandmother's. Then I have a crystal cross from Ireland that a dear friend gave me when I was Baptized. I also keep my rosary beads (they had been blessed by the Carmelite Nuns) and a prayer book that the same friend had so kindly given me. I have a book of the Vatican Art collection that I had got when an exhibition was at the Metropolitan museum of art in the 1980s.~ Williams Family

"This is our special Altar. Every day around 6pm we as a family pray together the Rosary and we like to learn a little bit about the Saint of the day. My husband, my two kids and I. We take turns to pray the mysteries. This place is very special for us because this is Our Lady statue that we brought from Medjugorje 4 years ago. That was a very meaningful family trip. We love to remember that blessed pilgrimage" ~Niño Family

“I used to have part in the entrance of my house and part in my bedroom but those were placed that not everyone in the house was passing so a while ago I decided to have our Altar in a place that all of us will have the chance to pray . In the middle is Our Lady of Aparecida (from Brazil) besides of those I have St Benedict statue in the kitchen , tradition in my country (Brazil)for his intersection in our daily bread and St Michael Archangel in the entry of the house.” ~Sartori Gianizella Family

"Home altar is tradition in my family which gives the strength and hope that the our Lord Jesus and Mother Mary is living with us , watch over us and guide us in every single step in our life. It was a great way to worship God when we were participating the mass via online during this pandemic." ~Xavier Family

"This is my special place to kneel and pray and watch masses. My husband is not Catholic but he believes and Jesus and respects our home Altar. I made my own Pascal Candle for lent time guided by a priest in my previous parish" ~Crips Family

"The altar is located at the heart of my home where my family and I spend the most time together. It represents a reminder to my family the daily blessing we receive from Jesus and Mamá Maria."

“Our Altar in the living room, center of our home. Every morning before we leave home, we surrender our going and coming to our Lord , Lady and St Joseph. The icon in the center is the enthronement of the Holy Spirit, with Adam and Eve worshipping with host of Holy Angels to whom we have consecrated our home and all our beings to. St Martin of Tours on the small picture frame, who is the guardian Saint of our home with many other Saints. Above all, it is the Cross we take pride on.” ~Trithala Family
